PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RGMI Press reaches out to Bowie attendees at 4th Annual Juneteenth Jubilee FestivalRGMI Press reaches out to Bowie attendees at 4th Annual Juneteenth Jubilee Festival

Bowie, Md. — This year’s Juneteenth Jubilee Festival is scheduled Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 11:00AM to 5:00PM.

It is a Bowie tradition to celebrate the official freeing of all slaves post-emancipation in Texas on June 19, 1865. The event bridges individuals and families with children’s activities, local vendors, food handlers, college representatives, Greek letter organizations, artists, and authors.

“Community events like these in the African American community are so needed, to display our rich cultural and spiritual heritage,” says Aisha Asare, Christian book publisher and participating local vendor. Featured authors at its vendor table include notable D.C.-area folk poet Billye Okera, social worker Kisha Bridges-Ward, Army veteran Andre T. Miller, poet Gwenivere McClain, and children’s
author Jean Lee.

Presented annually by the City of Bowie at Allen Pond Park off Northview Drive, the Juneteenth Jubilee Festival attracts up to 10,000 people and will feature song, bands, raffles, and lots more on its main stage. For kids, inflatables and other children’s activities are also planned.

Bowie City and Prince George’s County officials are ensuring this event is as equally engaging as it environmentally sustainable and compliant with food handling standards. They have taken measures to achieve a goal of zero waste while enforcing no plastic bags and paper dissemination among vendors and food handlers.

“We are ready for book and ebook sales, and are using reusable bags for all book and Juneteenth or faith-based bracelet products,” says Asare. “Purchases will be as cashless as possible by leveraging QR codes for digital smartphone scanning and utilizing payment apps like CashApp, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Zelle. We are grateful to be in Artists Row this year as an African American faith-based
business.”
