Clinton,Md.—Retired educator Jean Lee, children’s author of the novel-branded brother and sister duo who solve dilemmas together entitled Jeffrey and Jasmine, is collaborating with a local after-school summer program, the Adventure of Reading.
Lee, who has taught mathematics and reading language arts in Title I and prestigious schools alike across the Washington Metropolitan area, also uses her book and professional experience to reinforce its themes of problem solving, critical thinking, and business acumen. After lunch during its weekly library time at APLUS Martial Arts, Leewill be sharing her publishing journey as a children’s author, while reading from Jeffrey and Jasmine for the youth enrolled in its summer program on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 6443 Old Alexandria Ferry Road, Clinton, Maryland.
“We are committed to physical strength as well as demonstrated reading progress,” says ChereeWilliams, APLUS owner and operator. “This book signing and read aloud will engage our readers, from our rising second graders through our rising fifth graders.
”Lee has also served local church, school, and university programs through creative business education and workshops for teens and tweens.
“It’s as simple as the classic lemonade stand business that youth can read about and do for themselves,” Lee says. “Not only will they build literacy but they will also learn how to be responsible leaders who know how to collaborate to raise financial resources for themselves, which the characters Jeffrey and Jasmine discover.”
