PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ft. Washington,Md. — “Barbers & Authors,” a joint effort between RGMI Press and shop owners, is connecting authors and clients of local communities with the barbershop as the site for discussion and reflection.

BARBERS & AUTHORS

Launched in June 2025 by RGMI Press for the Christian Author, “Barbers & Authors” is a collaboration between DC-area shops aligned with engaging clients of all ages with new literature about succeeding in faith, finance, and family. Mental health, current events, and self-improvement overall are pervasive and recurring topics published, reflecting the heart of shop communities.

Fort Washington, Maryland-based Cutty Way Barbershop and Salon, located at 8500 Allentown Road, is the first to meet the “Barbers & Authors” challenge of bridging texts with tapers.

“This is an exciting and innovative way to reach people here, of all ages, with books they can enjoy,” says Anthony Cutty, shop owner.

The first featured authors scheduled to appear during this historic event on Saturday, August 9, 2025, are Cori B. Holder, minister and author of Passing the Baton to the Next Generation, and Roderick K. Mitchell, retired D.C. firefighter and author of Fire, Fury, Faith. Both books offer readers insight on life, men’s mental health, overcoming bad habits, improving relationships, family legacy, and faith.

A follow-up event for young adult and children’s literature is scheduled for Saturday, August 23 also at Cutty Way, featuring Jean Lee, educator and author of Jeffrey and Jasmine: Dealing With Not-So-Easy Dilemmas, and André T. Miller, Army veteran and author of The Fear to SUCSEED, which is a bestselling audiobook detailing a personal journey of PTSD and ADHD

This program includes “Braids & Books,” a creative vehicle for clients of braid shops to also engage in books and community discussions.
