PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RGMI Press in the Temple Hills community for St. Stephen Baptist Church’s Community Day
Temple Hills, Md. — St. Stephen Baptist Church, led by Bishop Lanier C. Twyman, Sr., is no stranger to fulfilling the needs of its local community through weekly food giveaways, evangelistic outreach, and support of men, women, seniors, youth, the abused, and the incarcerated. This year’s open air Community Day scheduled Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 10:00AM to 2:00PM, is an annual community favorite—filled with free food, spiritual entertainment, and local vendors, including RGMI Press for Christian authors.
“St. Stephen and Pastor Twyman are well known and respected among county leaders and residents,” says RGMI Press Publisher Aisha Asare. “We are always pleased to be part of raising awareness among faith-based communities about our services, and are grateful to SSBC Outreach and the Mercy House team for the collaborative effort.”
Featured authors at the RGMI Press vendor table include notable D.C.-area folk poet Billye Okera, social worker Kisha Bridges-Ward, Army veteran Andre T. Miller, poet Gwenivere McClain, and children’s author Jean Lee. Hundreds of people from the Temple Hills, Camp Springs, Clinton, Ft. Washington, and surrounding areas are expected. The event will feature a live DJ, song, raffles, and lots more on its main stage. For kids, inflatables and other children’s activities are also planned.
“Like all community events, we are ready for book and ebook sales, and are using reusable bags for all book and faith-based bracelet products,” says Asare. “Purchases will be as cashless as possible by leveraging QR codes for digital smartphone scanning and utilizing payment apps like CashApp, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Zelle. We are grateful to have a vendor table this year as an African American faith-based business in Temple Hills.”
