Meet Aisha R. Brantley!

About the Book:

Writer and spoken word artist Aisha R. Brantley has delivered a powerful set of poems that express words of substance. These expressions are a refreshing and welcomed departure from some of the lyrical assaults commodified by the mainstream music and media industries of today. In her fluid and rhythmic style, she has provided sustenance for the soul as she shares her stories of lost loves, lost ways, family love, and faith.

About the Author:

Born in Washington, DC, and raised mostly in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Aisha R. Brantley (Asare) has captured the heart of her community and shared them in poetic form, from a Christian perspective. At age 14, Aisha wrote and presented her first poem at a youth pageant but continued to write mostly short stories. She studied broadcast journalism at Syracuse University, majored in creative writing at the University of Maryland, and holds a project management certificate. In 1998, she launched a literary service as a vehicle for Christian authors to be promoted and prepared for publishing. In 2006, Aisha co-founded the Anointed PENS Poetry Ministry of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church. She has facilitated writing workshops, serves as a commissioned poet, speaker, and host, and has been blessed to win many writing competitions, including the 2021 Grand Prize for the State Employees Credit Union Foundation. Aisha has appeared on WOLB AM radio, Howard University radio (WHUR FM), and American University radio (WAMU FM). She has also worked with corporate sponsors, churches, outreach ministries, coffeehouses, museums, libraries, schools, cultural and community festivals, book expos, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Amazon, Family Christian Books, John 3:16 Christian Bookstore, and many others throughout DC, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Today, the literary service begun in 1998 has developed into her ministry-service that formally supports Christian authors, writers, and researchers, now known as RGMI Press.
